Pat Cummins Reveals Sister Dragged Him to Bollywood Dance Class During IPL 2024

Australia and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain, Pat Cummins, recently shared a humorous story about his sister making him attend a Bollywood dance class during the IPL 2024 season. Cummins jokingly mentioned that his sister is now in his “bad books” for this. With Cummins’ family visiting India for the first time, he admitted it was a fun and memorable experience.

Dancing to Bollywood Beats

A video featuring Pat Cummins and his family dancing to a popular Bollywood song went viral during his IPL 2024 stint. Since leading Australia to victory in the 2023 ODI World Cup by defeating India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Cummins has become a beloved figure in India.

The Joys of IPL

When asked about his newfound love for Bollywood music, Cummins humorously pointed to his sister as the reason. He highlighted one of the best parts of playing in the IPL is the cultural exchange, where players from different backgrounds come together. Speaking to ESPNcricinfo’s Cricket Monthly, Cummins said:

“My sister stitched me up. She dragged me to a Bollywood dancing class and then posted a video (chuckles). So, yeah, she’s in the bad books! But no, it’s been great. That’s always the joy of playing IPL—you play alongside guys that have lived here their whole life, so I get their suggestions on where to go out for dinner or what places to go and see. It’s been a thrill taking my family around this time in particular. It’s the first time that they came over.”

Remarkable IPL 2024 Stint

Cummins also had an impressive season as the captain of SunRisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024. After finishing at the bottom of the table in IPL 2023, the SunRisers made it to the final under Cummins’ leadership. Unfortunately, they lost to the Kolkata Knight Riders in the final match.

Pat Cummins on His Calm Demeanor

When asked about his calm and composed nature, Cummins agreed that it’s partly innate but also something he has developed over time. He explained that he has become less aggressive and more focused on performing well.

“I think to some degree I was born with it. I have always kind of had this ‘she’ll be right’ kind of attitude. The more I have played, the more I have mellowed a little bit in terms of not being as fiery, and you just want to concentrate on how to get the job done,” he stated.

Looking Ahead

Cummins is set to play in Australia’s T20 World Cup 2024 opener against Oman on Thursday, June 6. Fans are eagerly waiting to see him in action again, both for his cricketing skills and his charming off-field stories.
