ICC Changes Pakistan’s Hotel in New York After PCB’s Complaint

Hotel Relocation for Pakistan Team

Initially, the ICC had allocated a hotel that was almost 90 minutes away from the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, the venue for Pakistan’s matches against India and Canada. This long commute was a significant inconvenience. As a result, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi lodged a formal complaint regarding the long travel distance.

New Accommodation Arrangements

Following the complaint, the ICC arranged a new hotel for the Pakistan team. According to The Times of India, the new hotel is only five minutes away from the stadium. This adjustment will significantly reduce travel time and help the team focus better on their games. Interestingly, the hotel where Team India is staying is 10 minutes away from the same stadium.

Concerns from Other Teams

The Sri Lankan team also raised concerns about the travel time from their hotel to the stadium in New York. Reports indicate that the Sri Lankan players had to endure more than an hour’s travel to reach the newly built venue. This has been a common issue for several teams participating in the tournament.

Pakistan’s Upcoming Matches

Pakistan is set to begin their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against the co-hosts USA today (June 6) at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. This match is crucial for the Men in Green as they aim to secure a win on American soil. The USA team has already made a strong start to the tournament with a comprehensive victory against Canada and will look to maintain their momentum against Pakistan.

Preparations for the New York Games

After their match in Dallas, Pakistan will travel to New York for a highly anticipated clash against India on Sunday (June 9). This game is expected to be a blockbuster event, drawing significant attention from cricket fans worldwide. How Pakistan performs in their first game today will set the tone for their subsequent matches.
