In The Hundred debut game between Welsh Fire and Manchester Originals, Pakistan’s fast bowler Shaheen Afridi made a remarkable impact by taking two wickets on the first two balls he bowled. The match was delayed due to rain and was later reduced to 40 balls per side.
After winning the toss, Manchester Originals chose to field, and Welsh Fire managed to score 94 runs in their 40 balls, losing three wickets in the process. As Manchester began their innings, they needed a strong start, but Shaheen Afridi had other plans. He opened the bowling for Welsh Fire and quickly dismissed both Philip Salt and Laurie Evans in the first two deliveries, putting Manchester on the backfoot.
